A&M Private Wealth Partners, based in West Palm Beach, Fla., launches with 20 employees spread across four offices around the country managing roughly $103m in client assets.
Multinational management consultancy Alvarez & Marsal has announced the executive team that will lead its new RIA business, largely composed of industry veterans from major banks.
Citywire broke the news in July that Alvarez & Marsal had filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an RIA named A&M Private Wealth Partners (AMPWP). In its latest Form ADV filed on Oct. 10, the West Palm Beach, Fla.-based firm disclosed having a little over $103m in client assets under management.
Leading the new enterprise as chairman is Peter Sacripanti, previously the chairman of international law firm McDermott Will & Emery. Jonathan Fitzgerald, who previously spent two years as the head of domestic wealth planning for North America at Citi Private Bank, will serve as the head of AMPWP’s wealth planning division.
Another Citi Private Bank alum, Michael Calkin, who has also worked as an executive at Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan, will serve as practice lead at AMPWP. The new firm’s CIO is Michael Murgio, who previously held the same position with Greenway Wealth Management.
With a fiduciary-first mindset, our emphasis is on delivering personalized and integrated financial strategies that address the unique complexities of our clients’ lives.
In its Form ADV Part 2 brochure, the firm notes that it works with the ultra-wealthy and requires a minimum initial investment of $10m. Its clients include individuals, high-net-worth families, trusts, foundations, endowments and non-profit organizations.
AMPWP’s leadership team also includes former Citi Investment Management executive Takuya (Taki) Kisaka, who will head up the fixed income team, and John Ralls, who will lead business development after serving as regional head of business development with Fidelity Family Office Services.
Serving as a senior advisor to AMPWP is Joseph Berardino, a former managing partner and CEO of now-defunct multinational accounting firm Arthur Andersen. Berardino resigned from Arthur Andersen in 2002 after the firm was indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice amidst its accounting practices for Enron and WorldCom. The obstruction of justice conviction against Arthur Andersen was later overturned by the Supreme Court.
AMPWP stated in a release that the firm is launching with a total of 20 employees and will have offices in New York City, Atlanta and Los Angeles, in addition to its Florida headquarters.
Alvarez & Marsal is headquartered in New York City and employs around 10,000 people spread across 39 countries. The firm, which is known for being a ‘turnaround specialist’ for struggling companies, is led by co-CEOs Tony Alvarez II and Bryan Marsal, who co-founded the company in 1983.
The RIA market is saturated, yet many firms remain sales-oriented and lack the comprehensive resources necessary to meet the intricate needs of the wealthiest families. Our strong commitment to value creation for our clients uniquely positions us to serve this market with the same client-first mentality that is our hallmark.
